A Culture of Giving. A Legacy for Tomorrow

is an intellectual and nurturing haven in Dasmariñas, Cavite which houses a powerhouse complement of a medical and health sciences school, a research center, and a hospital. We pride ourselves in being a Lasallian institution of worth—first, for being the only Lasallian Philippine institution to simultaneously deliver education, research and healthcare, and second, for living out and being faithful to our Lasallian mission and values.

We do not live in a vacuum. Just within our immediate environs, many still do not enjoy the full benefits of quality education and healthcare by dint of poverty. More and more, our competencies and desire to fill in those needs, and to bridge the gap for those, who otherwise, cannot afford these basics, become even more pronounced.

In 2008, we launched a program called “A Culture of Giving: Our Legacy for Tomorrow.„ This initiative is a bold step to cultivate generosity and altruism into our own community members, such that giving is lived out as naturally as breathing itself. With it, everyone in the Institute regardless of rank has a stake in fulfilling the mission to the highest order, and living out the values of spirit of faith, zeal for service, communion in mission, and reverence for life.

We may find ourselves in the midst of an economic crisis, but we at DLSHSI will not feel discouraged, but instead carry on and lead others to share even at a time of no excess. The best tme to give is when it is hardest to give.

The country is beset by conditions which, though seemingly insurmountable, can be overcome by sincere intentions, sustained actions, and involved cooperation. We invite you to be a partner in noble endeavors of alleviating the conditions of our country’s least, lost and last.
