Lasallian Admission and Scholarship Opportunities (LASO)

The Lasallian Admission and Scholarship Opportunities (LASO) under the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Academics is the central unit responsible for the Admission and Scholarship.  It was formerly known as Office of the Academic Services – Admissions (OAS) until 2015, when Br. Augustine L. Boquer, FSC, EdD DLSMHSI President and Juanito O. Cabanias, LPT, MAE, PhD, Vice Chancellor for Academics, renamed it as Lasallian Admission and Scholarship Opportunities (LASO) with the new thrust: To support the Institute’s mission in identifying and recruiting students, giving them access to a free Lasallian health sciences education through scholarships until they graduate to ensure their success in the future.

Description of its Function:

The LASO has four major functions:

Admission

LASO manages the selection and screening process of all prospective students thru the College and Lasallian Admission Tests, interview and other measures. The office also collects, handles and checks all the requirements submitted by the applicants, which are to be coordinated and submitted to The Registrar after enrollment.

Testing

LASO conducts, checks and releases exam results for all incoming Senior High School and Undergraduate applicants. It also establishes on-site testing for the interested applicants who are far from the Province of Cavite.

Marketing

LASO identifies potential students and informs them of the programs and scholarships offered by the Institute and provides them a range of marketing materials and different marketing activities to help them decide for the right program to take and the right school to enroll. The office makes sure that De La Salle Medical and Health Sciences Institute is the right school for them.

Scholarship

LASO assists and facilitates the Institute in the delivery of its scholarship assistance program through recruiting of potential scholars and supporting the different activities of the LASO for the holistic development of the scholars.
