Academic Administrators hold Leadership Formation Program and AUN-QA Orientation

The Vice Chancellor for Academics, Deans, Directors, Chairs, and Heads of the Academics attended the Leadership Formation Program and Asean University Network-Quality Assurance General Orientation on July 23-24, 2019 at Hotel Kimberly, Tagaytay City.

The first day of the program was packed with three (3) sessions. Br. Michael J. Broughton FSC discussed the principles of a Lasallian leader. Vice Chancellor for Academics Juanito O. Cabanias presented the qualities of a Lasallian Academic administrator and their relevant work processes and procedures.  Representatives from the different units and offices of the Hospital, Shared Services, Research, and Lasallian Mission, Linkages and Advancement were also invited to share their services, programs, and workflows involving the Academics.

On Day 2, the Academic Quality Management headed by its Director, Rowena M. Laigo, RN, LPT, MAEd, presented an overview of the Asean University Network-Quality Assurance (AUN-QA) and the direction of the Academics towards AUN-QA accreditation. AUN-QA Network is established as the ASEAN quality assurance network in higher education with the responsibility to promote quality assurance in higher education institutions, raise the standards of higher education and collaborate with both the regional and international bodies for the benefit of the ASEAN community. The AUN-QA Framework involves Programme Level Assessment and Institutional Level Assessment. DLSMHSI aims to become an AUN-QA Associate Member by this school year, start the preparation of its 5-year development plan and apply for AUN-QA Programme Level Assessment by the end of the 5th year or earlier.

Two new Academic Administrators appointed

Celso P. Pagatpatan, Jr. RN, MSN, DrPh is appointed as Dean of Graduate Studies in Medical and Health Sciences effective August 1, 2019 to July 31, 2020.

Clarence Witty H. Mendoza, RMT, MSMT is named as Director for Center for Internationalization, Academic Affiliations and Engagements effective August 1, 2019 to July 31, 2020.


BSRT graduates continue to radiate 

Congratulations to our BS Radiologic Technology graduates Batch 2019 for their commendable performance in the July 2019 Radiologic Technologist Licensure Examination, with three (3) topnotchers:

  • An Mari Marin Capuz, RRT placed 3rd (90.80%)
  • Blessed Angelica Samuel Amadure, RRT placed 9th (89.60)
  • Ashlee Joy Lector Bawalan, RRT placed 9th (89.60)

DLSMHSI recorded a passing percentage of 91.82% for the first takers (101 out 110 examinees) and 77.92% over-all (120 out of 154 including the re-takers), exceptionally higher than the national passing rate of 51.90%. DLSMHSI, following concerns and recommendations from the board of trustees, continues undertaking measures to improve the performance of all our graduates in all licensure examinations.
