Academics all set for SY 2018-2019 with 20/20 Vision

The Academics is ready to take on the challenges of SY 2018-2019 with its improved strategic thrusts themed 20/20 Vision: Clear, Conspicuous, Transparent, and Visible. It aims to bring together the efforts of the Colleges and Departments towards the achievement of ten (10) outcomes, with a particular focus on the following:

  • Institutional Sustainability Assessment certification
  • Faculty, Academic Support Personnel and Non-Teaching Personnel development
  • Stability during the Kto12 transition
  • Educational technologies and facilities
  • National and international partnerships and collaborations

DLSMHSI could expect exciting developments in the coming months, which shall affirm its role as the leading  health sciences institution in the region with distinct Lasallian character.


DLSMHSI holds Commencement Exercises for the Primo Batch of the Special Health Sciences Senior High School

The first Commencement Exercises for the Special Health Sciences Senior High School was held on June 1, 2018 at DLS Animo Center. Three hundred fifty-seven (357) Grade 12 students successfully completed the academic requirements for graduation. Br. Francisco V. dela Rosa, FSC was invited as Guest Speaker to inspire the young Lasallians.

Diosdado M. San Antonio, PhD, Director IV DepEd Region IV-A and Manuela S. Tolentino, EdD, CESE, Division Superintendent of the City Schools Division of Dasmarinas DepEd Region IV-A were present to witness the ceremony as guests of honor.

CHED visits DLSMHSI for ISA

The Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Regional Office visited DLSMHSI on June 7, 2018 for a pre-screening of the documents in preparation for the Institutional Sustainability Assessment (ISA) of the Academics.  Ms. Rowena C. Laigo, RN, LPT, MAEd, Academic Quality Management Director, together with College Deans and Department Directors, met Ms. Judith Mary Ann Chan, Education Supervisor II and Dr. Freddie B. Bulauan, Education Supervisor II from CHED Region IV-A to discuss the pieces of  evidence for ISA Self-Evaluation in five (5) Key Result Areas.

ISA certification identifies the typology of the Institution either horizontally (whether Professional, College, or University) and vertically (whether regulated, deregulated, or autonomous (by evaluation). CHED intends to assess the performance of higher education institutions if their system is leading to quality outcomes or if there is a presence of “culture of quality.” The Academics is scheduled to be visited formally for ISA certification this school year as part of its commitment towards quality Lasallian health sciences education.


Sagada National High School receives books and school supplies

The Romeo P. Ariniego, MD Library visited Sagada National High School on June 13, 2018 to bring a fresh batch of books and book stands to be added to its library collections. Librarians and library assistants made their way to the school carrying 350 non-fiction and fiction books and 7 books stands. They also met 84 Grade 1 pupils to give school supplies courtesy of the Lasallian Access and Success Office (LASO) and the Health Assembly of Lasallian Scholars (HeALS).

This annual initiative is part of the Library’s Outreach Program, which aims to help school libraries develop their resources and services, make books accessible to young people and support life-long learning.
