Dr. Kevin A. Elomina tops the September 2016 Physician Licensure Examination

Another feather has been added in the cap of DLSHSI and the College of Medicine as one of its graduates, Dr. Kevin A. Elomina, placed 7th in the September 2016 Physician Licensure Examination. DLSHSI records a passing rate of 69.41% for first time takers.This follows another licensure feat for the College of Medicine as its graduate, Dr. Kristel Tanhui, also topped the August 2015 licensure examination for physicians. Congratulations to the new Lasallian doctors and the College of Medicine!
Online advising and registration take effect on Second Semester, SY 2016-2017Dr. Naomi M. De Aro, University Registrar, has announced that advising and registration shall be online effective Second Semester, SY 2016-2017 for selected year levels in each college. The new process aims to maximize the features of School Automate and the Academic Management System and to expedite the enrollment.
DLSHSI signs Memorandum of Agreement on NCRP-PCHRD-DLSHSI Research Project The Memorandum of Agreement on NCRP-PCHRD-DLSHSI Research Project has been officially signed by DLSHSI through Br. Gus L. Boquer, FSC, Dr. Juanito O. Cabanias, and Dr. Alicia P. Catabay. It is a two-year research grant worth P2.5M, the first research project approved for the College of Pharmacy.
OpenAthens case study features DLSHSI experienceThe DLSHSI experience of making resources available online anytime, anywhere has been featured in a recent case study by OpenAthens. It highlighted the challenges encountered by users in accessing resources, the technology-driven solution chosen to address the issue, and the positive outcomes of using OpenAthens as the solution. OpenAthens is a cloud-based service, subscribed by Romeo P. Ariniego MD Library Services (RPAMDLS), which allows users to access online resources anytime, anywhere using a single sign on. DLSHSI RPAMDLS is the first academic library in the Philippines to fully implement this technology.

Updates from the Seventeenth Academic Operations Committee (VCA Council) Meeting held on October 13, 2016

  1. Approval of the Policies, Standards, and Guidelines on the Use of Faculty Produced Learning Materials for Ranking and Promotion for the Full Professor and ASP-III Levels and the Publication Guidelines and Criteria for the VCA’s Award for Scholarly Productivity
  2. Appointment of Dr. Naomi M. De Aro as Board of Directors and Founding Member of PASSH since 2015
  3. VCA’s Research Award for Dr. Alicia P. Catabay for her research paper titled ”Hypolipidemic Effect of the Lyophilized Fruit Pulp of Guyabano, Annona Muricata Linn. (Fam Annonaceae) in Atherogenic Diet-Induces Hyperlipidemia in Albino Rats” published at the Journal of Asian Association of Schools of Pharmacy (JAASP). Dr. Catabay is entitled to a research incentive of 10% of the monthly salary (co-author).
  4. College of Medical Radiation Technology has already received its permit as a Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Provider for Radiologic Technology with Accreditation No. 2016-011 given on August 4, 2016 and expires on August 4, 2019
