Academic Quality Management (AQM) and Center for Innovative Education and Technology Integration

New Academic offices in focus. Two new offices have been established to support the development of technology-based education and academic quality and standardization throughout the division.


Academic Quality Management (AQM) and Center for Innovative Education and Technology Integration (CIETI) in focus

The Academic Quality Management (AQM), headed by Ms. Rowena C. Laigo, RN, LPT, MAEd, its Director, supports the Academics Division in achieving standards of excellence and in promoting quality enhancement practices across division. Among its main objectives for the coming school years are:

  • Operations Manual. AQM drafts its Operations Manual to guide the processes and procedures of the department.
  • ISA Certification. AQM coordinates with the different colleges and departments to prepare DLSHSI to be ISA certified. Plans are underway to round-up the sub-committees focused on this initiative and to organize the documents and requirements for submission.
  • PAASCU Accreditation. AQM collaborates with the offices concerned and committees to plan for the successful accreditation/re-accreditation of the Medicine, Nursing, Physical Therapy, and Radiologic Technology programs in 2019.

The Center for Innovative Education and Technology Integration (CIETI) promotes technology integration in education through innovative means. Mr. Marlon G. Gado, MLIS, the Director, leads the Center to pursue the following programs:

  • Faculty/ASP training. CIETI plans to host an educational technology program/course for incoming Faculty/ASP (minimum course) and existing Faculty/ASP (structured training program) based on the Faculty/ASP development plan and CIETI committee recommendations delivered through hybrid distance learning.
  • Learning Management System (LMS). CIETI coordinates with the different colleges to evaluate the existing learning management system. It shall present its recommendation on the Institute-wide use and implementation of LMS to complement learning and instruction.
  • eLearning Summit. CIETI highlights the importance and application of technology to education through this event slated on January or July 2018.

  • Poster presentation of the study of Ms. Angelica G. Teves and Ms. Claudine Candy J. Cauilan, students from the College of Medical Laboratory Science on “Antiangiogenic Property of Anona muricata”  during the 3rd Singapore Oncology Society held at One Farrer Hotel on July 7-8, 2017. The same paper has been accepted at Liverpool, UK in November 2017.
  • Paper presentation of Mr. Romeo Ongpoy, Jr. from the College of Pharmacy at the 17th Asian Conference on Clinical Pharmacy, Yogyakarta, Indonesia on July 28-30, 2017. This will be sponsored by CHED.
