Retention Policy


RETENTION POLICY

The following are the provisions of the Retention Policy

  1. A student must pass at least 50% of the total number of units enrolled after the 1st and 2nd semester of the First year.
  2. A student must pass at least 60% of the total number of units enrolled after the 1st and 2nd semester of the Second year and Third year.
  3. A student must pass any failed professional and/or core courses on the 2nd enrollment.
  4. A student must not accumulate more than 18 units of failures.
  5. A student who obtain a GPA of below 80.00 will be classified as “Probation”.
    • A student who is on “Probation” will be disqualified from continuing the program on the following grounds:
      • Failure to obtain a GPA of 80.00 on the following semester.
      • Committed any major offense during the probationary period.
    • Probationary status will be lifted should the student obtain a GPA of at least 80.00 at the end of following semester.

Note:  Non-academic subjects as stipulated in the Institutional Student Handbook and Research Writing 1  and   2  are not included in the computation of the GPA

The policy covers BSRT and BSNMT students from 1st to 3rd year only.  Fourth year students are governed by the Rules and Policies for Clinical Education Training Program.

Students who intend to file a Leave of Absence (LOA) must drop all the subjects enrolled for that particular semester. Otherwise, it will be included in the number of units failed.
