FACILITIES AND INFRASTRUCTURE

The College of Nursing (CN) occupies the 3rd and 4th floors of the Wang Building within the DLSMHSI campus. The Dean and Vice Dean’s offices, the Chairs’ offices, the faculty room and the nursing arts laboratory which includes the simulated ward, private room, intensive care unit and community health center together with the lecture hall are located at the 3rd floor. A conference room which can be used for meetings and small group discussions is located within the CN office. It also houses a library which can be used by the faculty members for research and lecture purposes. The lecture rooms for discussion, the anatomy and physiology laboratory as well as the CN demonstration rooms are on the 4th floor. The simulation laboratory is located at CN demonstration room. 1. It has a control room and two simulation rooms each with a high-fidelity mannequin. Two rooms on the 2nd floor of Wang building are the Nutrition laboratory and the Special programs lecture and laboratory facilities of the College of Nursing. All classrooms and laboratories are all air-conditioned and are equipped with overhead projectors, glass boards and wi-fi connections. The students go to the Romeo P. Ariniego, MD, AFSC Library for their research and other learning needs. On January 31, 2019, this library was given the 2019 Innovative Library Design Award, the first of its kind given to a library in the Philippines.

Games, Physical Education classes, school congregations and the like are usually held at the DLS Animo Center. Students buy their meals from Café Verde and from other canteens within the campus. Any health concerns are dealt with by the School Clinic located at the Wang building and at the Lourdes E. Campos, MD building. Entry and exit of the students on campus are noted through the use of their RFID. Their security and safety are also assured by security guards posted on entry and exit points of the institution.
