The College of Pharmacy DLSHSI is in its second year of offering a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy program after a successful initial offering in school year 2014-2015. BS Pharmacy is a four-year college degree intended for people who wants to have a career in the different dynamic fields of the pharmaceutical profession. Our graduates are provided with a comprehensive training that may lead to a career in a wide range of scientific fields such as community drug stores, hospitals, government agencies, research establishments, public health and in the pharmaceutical industry to name a few. They may also choose to continue with medical education as Pharmacy is also a good pre-med course. The study of pharmacy includes the identification, discovery, isolation, synthesis, and formulation of biologically active compounds for clinical use. Graduates of Pharmacy must be competent in managing drug stores; in identifying, developing, manufacturing and dispensing of drugs; and in providing pharmaceutical care as well as counseling clients in the proper use of both prescribed and patient chosen medications. Pharmacy has undergone a lot of changes in the past few years, and graduates of the course has also specialized in specific fields of Pharmacy such as Pharmacology, Toxicology, Pharmaceutics, Pharmaco-economics, Forensics among others.
