Matthew 15:29-37

Date posted: December 5, 2018

Let us all remember that we are in the Holy Presence of God.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Gospel: Matthew 15:29-37
“Jesus left there and went along the Sea of Galilee. Then he went up on a mountainside and sat down. Great crowds came to him , bringing the lame , the blind, the crippled, the mute and many others, and laid them at his feet; and he healed them. The people were amazed when they saw the mute speaking , the crippled made well, the lame walking and the blind seeing. And they praised the God of Israel. Jesus called his disciples to him and said, “ I have compassion for these people; they have already been with me three days and have nothing to eat.I do not want to send them away hungry, or they may collapse on the way.
His disciples answered, ‘Where could we get enough bread in this remote place to feed such a crowd?’
‘How many loaves do you have?’ Jesus asked.
‘Seven,’ they replied, and ‘and a few small fish’
He told the crowd to sit down on the ground. Then he took the seven loaves and the fish, and when he had given thanks , he broke them and gave them to the disciples, and they in turn to the people. They all ate and were satisfied. Afterwards the disciples picked up seven basketfuls of broken pieces that were left over.”

Reflection
In today’s world, it may not seem to appear that miracles happen. We know that a person who has a serious disease or illness have a rare chances to be cured. But if we realize ,if we have faith , we may see the miracles that happens on our daily lives that we receive more blessings than sorrows. The blessings might be small or big but it is still a wonderful gift that we may receive. We are all ill or lame in some way and we are longing for healing the of Jesus to us. But we must glorify God for all the gifts that he bestowed upon us.

Lasallian Guiding Principle
LGP states that, “…communion as a way of accomplishing mission suggests the solidarity and collaboration that come from sharing in one vision, one spirit and one mission.” LGP states that, “…communion as a way of accomplishing mission suggests the solidarity and collaboration that come from sharing in one vision, one spirit and one mission.” Communion is Christian ceremony in which bread is eaten and wine is drunk as a way of showing devotion to Jesus Christ. As relation to the gospel if we have devotion and faith to God, He will provide everything. Even the impossible things will be possible through Him. Like in the Gospel, the miracles that Jesus Christ performed from healing to making the supply of bread and loaves boundless. And lastly, As a Lasallian we should always impart in ourselves that having unity and sharing same goals and visions with other will lead to a successful mission.
