John 10:37-42

Date posted: April 3, 2020

Let us all remember that we are in the Holy Presence of God.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

John 10:37-42
If I do not perform my Father’s works, do not believe me;
but if I perform them, even if you do not believe me, believe the works, so that you may realize (and
understand) that the Father is in me and I am in the Father.”
(Then) they tried again to arrest him; but he escaped from their power.
He went back across the Jordan to the place where John first baptized, and there he remained.
Many came to him and said, “John performed no sign, but everything John said about this man was true.”
And many there began to believe in him.

Reflection
Again, Jesus had a dialogue with the Jews. He teaches them to go beyond the one who talks about His
special bond with God and just focus on what he did, His works which are demonstration of God’s works.
Only then, they would understand everything about Him and this understanding will lead them to believe in
Him. We can see Jesus’ passion (zeal) in explaining to the Jews who He was. His zeal is born out of His
commitment to fulfil His Father’s mission for Him. How far can you go in sharing the love of Jesus especially
these days?

Lasallian Guiding Principle
The LGP states that, “Zeal is the active expression of faith in gospel witness and service.” This zeal inspired
so many people these days to bring the presence of God. There are ‘techy’ people who simply make simple
presentations on how to protect oneself from this COVID-19. Those who advocate community health
education make use of the social media to educate the public and not bring more confusions and fears.
Mabuhay kayong mga nagpapalaganap ng liwanag sa madilim nating mundo ngayon.

Oratio Imperata on the Threat of the COVID-19 (CBCP)
God our Father,
we come to You in our need to ask Your protection
against the COVID-19 that has disturbed us
and claimed many lives.
We pray that You guide the people tasked to find cure
for this disease and to stem its transmission.
Protect the medical experts and healthcare personnel
that they may minister to the sick with competence and compassion.
We pray for those afflicted. May they be restored to health soon.
Protect those who care for them. Grant eternal rest to those who have died.
Give us grace in this trying time to work for the good of all and to help those in need.
We implore You to stop the spread of this virus and to save us from our fears.
Grant this through our Lord Jesus Christ, Your Son
who lives and reigns with You,
in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God forever and ever. Amen.
Our Lady of the Star, pray for us!
St. John Baptist de La Salle, pray for us!
St. Miguel Febres Cordero, pray for us!
Live Jesus in our hearts, forever!
In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
