John 11: 1-45

Date posted: March 29, 2020

Let us all remember that we are in the Holy Presence of God.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

John 11: 1-45
Martha therefore said to Jesus: “Lord, if thou had been here, my brother had not died. But now also I know
that whatsoever thou wilt ask of God, God will give it thee.” Jesus said to her: “Thy brother shall rise
again. Martha said to him: I know that he shall rise again, in the resurrection at the last day. Jesus said to
her: I am the resurrection and the life: he that believeth in me, although he be dead, shall live: And every
one that lived, and believeth in me, shall not die for ever.”

Reflection
The gospel is one of miracles performed by Jesus during His mission. The resurrection of Lazarus from
death represents the power of God over death. It encourages us to strengthen our faith in the power of God.
Nothing is impossible to God. No matter how big or small our trials in life may be, nothing can surpass the
power of God. What is the role of the Church in the threat posed by COVID-19? What is your role as a
believer?

Lasallian Guiding Principle
The LGP states that, “Zeal for service is a whole-hearted giving of oneself to the service of others, in gratuity
and generosity, in creativity and fortitude, in compassion and commitment.” The Gospel is related to this
LGP statement since Lasallians are challenged to show kindness, compassion and sympathy to other
people. These Lasallian values are the same values of the Kingdom of God. It is our duty and mission to
embrace these values.

Oratio Imperata on the Threat of the COVID-19 (CBCP)
God our Father,
we come to You in our need to ask Your protection
against the COVID-19 that has disturbed us
and claimed many lives.
We pray that You guide the people tasked to find cure
for this disease and to stem its transmission.
Protect the medical experts and healthcare personnel
that they may minister to the sick with competence and compassion.
We pray for those afflicted. May they be restored to health soon.
Protect those who care for them. Grant eternal rest to those who have died.
Give us grace in this trying time to work for the good of all and to help those in need.
We implore You to stop the spread of this virus and to save us from our fears.
Grant this through our Lord Jesus Christ, Your Son
who lives and reigns with You,
in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God forever and ever. Amen.
Our Lady of the Star, pray for us!
St. John Baptist de La Salle, pray for us!
St. Miguel Febres Cordero, pray for us!
Live Jesus in our hearts, forever!
In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
