John 12:7-11

Date posted: April 6, 2020

Let us all remember that we are in the Holy Presence of God.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

John 12:7-11
So Jesus said, “Leave her alone. Let her keep this for the day of my burial. You always have the poor with
you, but you do not always have me.” (The) large crowd of the Jews found out that he was there and came,
not only because of Jesus, but also to see Lazarus, whom he had raised from the dead. And the chief priests
plotted to kill Lazarus too, because many of the Jews were turning away and believing in Jesus because of
him.

Reflection
The passion and death of Jesus is nearly coming. In today’s gospel, Jesus reminds the disciples to put into
action what they are saying and not to be like the hypocrites. We do a lot of good things to others. We often
spend our times with our friends and family but we mostly forgot that we have God who gives so much
blessing to us. Why do we say that some struggles could be gifts to life itself?

Lasallian Guiding Principle
LGP states that, “Zeal is the active expression of faith in gospel witness and service.” In relation to the
gospel, our LGP reminds us to be true witnesses of God’s love and compassion. As Lasallians, we are
called to put God first in our everyday life. Let us always be reminded of St. La Salle’s favorite biblical
quotation, “Domine Opus Tuum” or “Lord, the work is yours.”

Oratio Imperata on the Threat of the COVID-19 (CBCP)
God our Father,
we come to You in our need to ask Your protection
against the COVID-19 that has disturbed us
and claimed many lives.
We pray that You guide the people tasked to find cure
for this disease and to stem its transmission.
Protect the medical experts and healthcare personnel
that they may minister to the sick with competence and compassion.
We pray for those afflicted. May they be restored to health soon.
Protect those who care for them. Grant eternal rest to those who have died.
Give us grace in this trying time to work for the good of all and to help those in need.
We implore You to stop the spread of this virus and to save us from our fears.
Grant this through our Lord Jesus Christ, Your Son
who lives and reigns with You,
in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God forever and ever. Amen.
Our Lady of the Star, pray for us!
St. John Baptist de La Salle, pray for us!
St. Miguel Febres Cordero, pray for us!
Live Jesus in our hearts, forever!
In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
