John 1:29-34

Date posted: January 19, 2020

Let us all remember that we are in the Holy presence of God.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

John 1:29-34
John the Baptist saw Jesus coming toward him and said, “Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world. He is the one of whom I said, ‘A man is coming after me who ranks ahead of me because he existed before me.’ I did not know him, but the reason why I came baptizing with water was that he might be made known to Israel” John testified further, saying, “I saw the Spirit come down like a dove from the sky and remain upon him. I did not know him, but the one who sent me to baptize with water told me, ‘On whomever you see the Spirit come down and remain, he is the one who will baptize with the Holy Spirit.’ Now I have seen and testified that he is the Son of God.”

Reflection
Today’s gospel tell us about the baptism of Jesus. John the Baptist was sent to prepare the way of Jesus for the fulfillment of God’s promise. As Christians, baptized by the same spirit, we are called to prepare the way of God to the people we encounter every day. In what way do we prepare the coming of Jesus in our life?

Lasallian Guiding Principle
LGP states that, “…the communion in mission is a spirit that allows one to trust one another…” We always had our own ways of following instructions. We different in terms of thinking and living, but should not change the way of taking that mission into our own hands. As Lasallians we must be doing our duties in fulfilling our mission without doubt and without hesitations as God’s work in our life.
