John 4:43-54

Let us all remember that we are in the Holy Presence of God.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

John 4:43-54
And at Capernaum there was an official whose son was ill. When he heard that Jesus had come from Judea
to Galilee, he went and begged him to come down and heal his son, for he was at the point of death. Jesus
therefore said to him, “Unless you see signs and wonders you will not believe.” The official said to him, “Sir,
come down before my child dies.” Jesus said to him, “Go; your son will live.” The man believed the word
that Jesus spoke to him and went his way.

Reflection
As humans, we are accustomed to see first before we believe. Today’s gospel challenged us to have faith
beyond what our eyes could see, so that we will be able to appreciate the goodness of God in our lives. In
this situation, we now experience the threat brought about by COVID-19 not only in our country but in the
whole world. In what way do we show our faith in God in the midst of all these threat, fears and confusions?

Lasallian Guiding Principle
The LGP states that, “Zeal for service is a whole-hearted giving of oneself to the service of others, in gratuity
and generosity, in creativity and fortitude, in compassion and commitment.” As Lasallians, we are also
challenged to serve our people and God through meaningful activities, charities, and movements etc. With
this, we would be able to create changes that would inspire and deepen our faith and others’ faith as well.

Oratio Imperata on the Threat of the COVID-19 (CBCP)
God our Father,
we come to You in our need to ask Your protection
against the COVID-19 that has disturbed us
and claimed many lives.
We pray that You guide the people tasked to find cure
for this disease and to stem its transmission.
Protect the medical experts and healthcare personnel
that they may minister to the sick with competence and compassion.
We pray for those afflicted. May they be restored to health soon.
Protect those who care for them. Grant eternal rest to those who have died.
Give us grace in this trying time to work for the good of all and to help those in need.
We implore You to stop the spread of this virus and to save us from our fears.
Grant this through our Lord Jesus Christ, Your Son
who lives and reigns with You,
in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God forever and ever. Amen.
Our Lady of the Star, pray for us!
St. John Baptist de La Salle, pray for us!
St. Miguel Febres Cordero, pray for us!
Live Jesus in our hearts, forever!
In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
