John 8:21-30

Date posted: March 31, 2020

Let us all remember that we are in the Holy Presence of God.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

John 8:21-30
I told you that you would die in your sins, for you will die in your sins unless you believe that I am he.” They
said to him, “Who are you?” Jesus said to them, “Even what I have told you from the beginning. I have much
to say about you and much to judge; but he who sent me is true, and I declare to the world what I have heard
from him.” They did not understand that he spoke to them of the Father. So Jesus said, “When you have
lifted up the Son of man, then you will know that I am he, and that I do nothing on my own authority but
speak thus as the Father taught me. And he who sent me is with me; he has not left me alone, for I always
do what is pleasing to him.” As he spoke thus, many believed in him

Reflection
The Gospel reminds us that the way to the Father is through Jesus alone. Therefore, let us always be
reminded to look for Jesus and never turn our backs on Him for He is not our enemy. He is our Lord and
Savior. And now, as we faced the threat of CoVid19, we must put all our trust in Him; have faith that He will
always protect us and save us from this crisis. Amidst of what is happening in our society, can we still put
all our trust in Jesus? Why?

Lasallian Guiding Principle
The LGP states that, “Zeal for service is a whole-hearted giving of oneself to the service of others, in gratuity
and generosity, in creativity and fortitude, in compassion and commitment.” St. John Baptist de La Salle
believed that faith and zeal are inseparable, two dimensions of one spirit. As Lasallians, we are called to
deepen our faith while doing noble things with passion in helping other people so that, we may become an
instrument to make Jesus known others, especially to the last, the least and the lost.

Oratio Imperata on the Threat of the COVID-19 (CBCP)
God our Father,
we come to You in our need to ask Your protection
against the COVID-19 that has disturbed us
and claimed many lives.
We pray that You guide the people tasked to find cure
for this disease and to stem its transmission.
Protect the medical experts and healthcare personnel
that they may minister to the sick with competence and compassion.
We pray for those afflicted. May they be restored to health soon.
Protect those who care for them. Grant eternal rest to those who have died.
Give us grace in this trying time to work for the good of all and to help those in need.
We implore You to stop the spread of this virus and to save us from our fears.
Grant this through our Lord Jesus Christ, Your Son
who lives and reigns with You,
in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God forever and ever. Amen.
Our Lady of the Star, pray for us!
St. John Baptist de La Salle, pray for us!
St. Miguel Febres Cordero, pray for us!
Live Jesus in our hearts, forever!
In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
