Luke 10, 38-42

Gospel: Luke 10, 38-42
Jesus entered a village where a woman whose name was Martha welcomed him. She had a sister named Mary who sat beside the Lord at his feet listening to him speak. Martha, burdened with much serving, came to him and said, “Lord, do you not care that my sister has left me by myself to do the serving? Tell her to help me.” The Lord said to her in reply, “Martha, Martha, you are anxious and worried about many things. There is need of only one thing. Mary has chosen the better part and it will not be taken from her.”

Reflection
When it comes to the Lord, we shouldn’t worry too much in preparing anything for Him. The preparation needed is just your presence and spiritual presence because in that way the Lord is already satisfied with just you. You don’t have to prepare greatly or it doesn’t have to be grand for the coming of the Lord because He is simple and He’d already be happy/contented with yourself. You only have to prioritize or focus on what is important or which is better than anything else and that is the Lord. He will be the one to lessen our worries that’s why we shouldn’t occupy ourselves in anything else other than the Lord because He always comes first for us. He isn’t a lavish type of person that needs to be pampered with grand preparations upon His arrival but instead He insists in being just contented in what He have that is us. What are our worries in life?

Lasallian Guiding Principle
LGP states that, “…the spirit of faith is a spirit that allows one to search for God’s will in order to carry out his saving plan.” The gospel talks about how the Lord is contented with just what you have because just your presence and your faith in Him is enough. It means that we don’t have to worry too much about the preparation upon the arrival of the Lord because He is not a lavish person. Through the gospel we actively express our faith through our activities.

Prayer
Lord, help us cultivate a Mary heart in a Martha world. The problem isn’t the world that we inhabit, but the heart that inhabits others. Give us an undivided heart that We may live in awe of your name. You are the one thing worth being concerned about that will never be taken from us. Amen.

Lasallian Prayer for Peace
We pray to you, O Lord,
God of life and God of those who hope!
Listen to our prayer for the whole world:
For peace among all peoples,
For prosperity in all lands.
We pray to you that evil may be overcome
And that all wars may end.
We pray to You especially for the members
Of our Lasallian Family,
Who suffer from war, injustice and intolerance,
And for children and young people who are poor ad neglected.
We pray too, God, for peace in our lives;
In our towns, in our schools,
In our families and in our own hearts.
We pray for a peace that the world cannot give us.
We pray for a peace that will make us whole
And transform us into ambassadors of justice for Your sake.
Lord, give us Your peace! Amen.
Our Lady of the Star, pray for us.
St. John Baptist de la Salle, pray for us.
St. Miguel Febres Cordero, pray for us.
Live Jesus in our hearts, forever!
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
