Luke 17:11-19

Date posted: November 14, 2018

Let us all remember that we are in the Holy Presence of God.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Gospel: Luke 17:11-19
As Jesus continued his journey to Jerusalem, he traveled through Samaria and Galilee. As he was entering a village, ten lepers met him. They stood at a distance from him and raised their voice, saying, “Jesus, Master! Have pity on us!” And when he saw them, he said, “Go show yourselves to the priests.” As they were going they were cleansed.
And one of them, realizing he had been healed, returned, glorifying God in a loud voice; and he fell at the feet of Jesus and thanked him. He was a Samaritan. Jesus said in reply, “Ten were cleansed, were they not? Where are the other nine? Has none but this foreigner returned to give thanks to God?” Then he said to him, “Stand up and go; your faith has saved you.”

Reflection
In our lives we may face different kinds of challenges that will make us question everything in our lives. In the gospel, even though 10 men came to Jesus and asked for his help only one succeeded, in our lives asking for help and waiting for it to come without faith will lead you to nowhere as a-lot of people would say we should “trust the process”. Let us invest our faith in Him and He will fulfill all you prayers and answer you questions because He can see who is sincere and who are inly there because they need something from Him.

Lasallian Guiding Principle
LGP states that, “…the spirit of faith is a spirit that allows one to be careful and diligent” In a relation to the gospel, we should be dedicated in what we are doing, and the Lord will give us our needs. We also need to learn how to thank Him. Faith is also needed. As a Lasallian, we should have a humble heart. Always remember to run back to Him, because He is the reason and answer for everything.

Prayer
Dear Father in heaven, we thank you that with our poor, faulty, sinful, and death-ridden lives we may find shelter in your love. We thank you that we are your children. We thank you that whatever we are, however depressed we are about ourselves and the inadequacy of our own nature, we are still your children. May we come to know that your loving-kindness is at work today, that in the end your deliverance will come quickly, to the glory of your name. Amen.
Our Lady of the Star, pray for us.
St. John Baptist de la Salle, pray for us.
St. Miguel Febres Cordero, pray for us.
Live Jesus in our hearts, forever!
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
