Luke 17:7-10

Date posted: November 12, 2019

Let us all remember that we are in the Holy presence of God.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Luke 17:7-10
Will any one of you, who has a servant plowing or keeping sheep, say to him when he has come in from the field, “Come at once and sit down at table”? Will he not rather say to him, “Prepare supper for me, and gird yourself and serve me, till I eat and drink; and afterward you shall eat and drink”? Does he thank the servant because he did what was commanded? So, you also, when you have done all that is commanded you, say, “We are unworthy servants; we have only done what was our duty.”

Reflection
We have our God who gave us everything including our duties to be fulfilled. And as Lasallians, we are challenged to follow everything that God has commanded us. These tasks will lead us to attain the fullness of our life. How to get ourselves ready in following Him?

Lasallian Guiding Principle
As stated in the Lasallian Guiding Principles, “…the spirit of faith is a spirit that allows one to search for God’s will in order to carry out His saving plan and trust in God’s loving presence and providence when acting or discerning God’s will.” We need to be careful and diligent as servants of God. Just like our founder Saint John Baptist de La Salle who reached out for the poor children without expecting anything in return. Therefore, the challenge for us Lasallians is to become thankful and offer our works all for the glory of God.

One Life Prayer
Holy Spirit
You love us and offer us the gift of association.
You call us to live with joy
You invite us to be people with a creative inner life
Lord, grant us your strength for a life full of meaning
Fill us with your grace so that we will live the values of the gospel.
Our inner life will grow
And that we will be credible witnesses
Together with the entire Lasallian Family
In the midst of our world.
We make this prayer through the intercession of Mary
Queen and Mother of the Christian Schools, and through
The intercession of Saint John Baptist de La Salle, patron of teachers. Amen.
Our Lady of the Star, pray for us.
St. John Baptist de La salle, pray for us.
St. Miguel Febres Cordero, pray for us.
Live Jesus in our hearts, forever!
In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
