Luke 18:1-8

Date posted: November 18, 2019

Let us all remember that we are in the Holy presence of God.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Luke 18:1-8
As Jesus approached Jericho a blind man was sitting by the roadside begging, and hearing a crowd going by, he inquired what was happening. They told him, “Jesus of Nazareth is passing by.” He shouted, “Jesus, Son of David, have pity on me!” The people walking in front rebuked him, telling him to be silent, but he kept calling out all the more, “Son of David, have pity on me!” Then Jesus stopped and ordered that he be brought to him; and when he came near, Jesus asked him, “What do you want me to do for you?” He replied, “Lord, please let me see.” Jesus told him, “Have sight; your faith has saved you.”

Reflection
The gospel teaches us to never get tired in praying. The generosity of God is unmeasurable and He can’t resist anyone just like the blind man. In Matthew 19:26 the phrase, “With God, all things are possible!”, means nothing is impossible for those who are determined and for those who have strong faith. How strong is your faith in God?

Lasallian Guiding Principle
As stated in the Lasallian Guiding Principles, “…is a spirit that allows one to unite one’s action to the on-going saving action of God in the world”. In a generation where people are straying away from believing in God, Jesus reminds us that God is merciful and generous to his children. St. John Baptist de La Salle shows that no matter how hard our life is, God is always on our side.

One Life Prayer
