Luke 19:41-44

Date posted: November 21, 2019

Let us all remember that we are in the Holy presence of God.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Luke 19:41-44
As Jesus drew near Jerusalem, he saw the city and wept over it, saying, “If this day you only knew what makes for peace–but now it is hidden from your eyes. For the days are coming upon you when your enemies will raise a palisade against you; they will encircle you and hem you in on all sides. They will smash you to the ground and your children within you, and they will not leave one stone upon another within you because you did not recognize the time of your visitation.”

Reflection
The gospel somehow predicted what will happen in the future were people will suffer because of their personal interests and selfishness. Jesus calls us today to be aware of this kind of culture to avoid destructions and to live our life peacefully. Change will not happen in one day. But we may start it in our self and our family so that we may achieve our dream world. What possible action I can do to achieve peace in our self, family, and community?

Lasallian Guiding Principle
As stated in the Lasallian Guiding Principles, “the spirit of faith is a spirit that allow us to share the gospel with the people who are thirst with the words of God.” The Lord warns us for the incoming threat we will be facing as a consequence for having personal interest in our life. As Lasallian, SJBDLS shows that dreaming for a better community is possible only if our services are rooted in our commitment to the Word of God and sharing this Good News to everyone.

One Life Prayer
Holy Spirit
You love us and offer us the gift of association.
You call us to live with joy
You invite us to be people with a creative inner life
Lord, grant us your strength for a life full of meaning
Fill us with your grace so that we will live the values of the gospel.
Our inner life will grow
And that we will be credible witnesses
Together with the entire Lasallian Family
In the midst of our world.
We make this prayer through the intercession of Mary
Queen and Mother of the Christian Schools, and through
The intercession of Saint John Baptist de La Salle, patron of teachers. Amen.
Our Lady of the Star, pray for us.
St. John Baptist de La Salle, pray for us.
