Luke 20:34-38

Date posted: November 23, 2019

Let us all remember that we are in the Holy presence of God.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Luke 20:34-38
Jesus said to them, “The children of this age marry and remarry; but those who are deemed worthy to attain to the
coming age and to the resurrection of the dead neither marry nor are given in marriage.
They can no longer die, for they are like angels; and they are the children of God because they are the ones who will rise. That the dead will rise even Moses made known in the passage about the bush, when he called ‘Lord’ the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob; and he is not God of the dead, but of the living, for to him all are alive.”

Reflection
Sadducees did not believe in resurrection and asked Jesus a tricky question but Jesus responded this intellectually
and used a parable that amazed them. God is not dead but a living God. We do not need to worry for anything because God is always there for us especially in the most difficult moment in our life. We must trust God’s loving plan and have faith in Him. How can I show that I trust God’s plan in my life?

Lasallian Guiding Principle
As stated in the Lasallian Guiding Principle, “we actively express our faith through our activities…” The gospel
encourages us to surrender everything to God for He knows everything that we need. Just like St. La Salle, he
encourages us to perceive the world with the eyes of faith, to animate our life by the loving actions of God, and have
stronger faith specially in the most difficult time while serving others.

One Life Prayer
Holy Spirit
You love us and offer us the gift of association.
You call us to live with joy
You invite us to be people with a creative inner life
Lord, grant us your strength for a life full of meaning
Fill us with your grace so that we will live the values of the gospel.
Our inner life will grow
And that we will be credible witnesses
Together with the entire Lasallian Family
In the midst of our world.
We make this prayer through the intercession of Mary
Queen and Mother of the Christian Schools, and through
The intercession of Saint John Baptist de La Salle, patron of teachers. Amen.
Our Lady of the Star, pray for us.
St. John Baptist de La Salle, pray for us.
St. Miguel Febres Cordero, pray for us.
Live Jesus in our hearts, forever!
In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
