Luke 21:5-9

Date posted: November 17, 2019

Let us all remember that we are in the Holy presence of God.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Luke 21:5-9
And as some spoke of the temple, how it was adorned with noble stones and offerings, he said, “As for these things which you see, the days will come when there shall not be left here one stone upon another that will not be thrown down.” And they asked him, “Teacher, when will this be, and what will be the sign when this is about to take place?” And he said, “Take heed that you are not led astray; for many will come in my name, saying, `I am he!’ and, `the time
is at hand!’ Do not go after them. And when you hear of wars and tumults, do not be terrified; for this must first take place, but the end will not be at once.”

Reflection
In the gospel, Jesus speaks of foreboding times causing the faithful to worry and asked for the signs when will it happen. Sometimes, we are like them, we are afraid because we don’t know what will happen next. But Jesus reminds us not to be afraid and be firm in our faith for He will never forsake us. Are you willing to entrust yourself completely to Him?

Lasallian Guiding Principle
As stated in the Lasallian Guiding Principles, “…the spirit of faith is the spirit that allows one to search for God’s will in order to carry out His saving plan.” St. John Baptist De La Salle carried out God’s plan by helping the poor especially those children in need. As Lasallians, we are also encouraged to keep our faith in God and practice diligence in our lives so that we can persevere and accomplish God’s plan in our lives.
