Luke 3, 15-16.21-22.

Date posted: January 13, 2019

Let us all remember that we are in the Holy Presence of God.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Gospel: Luke 3, 15-16.21-22.
The people were filled with expectation, and all were asking in their hearts whether John might be the Christ.
John answered them all, saying, "I am baptizing you with water, but one mightier than I is coming. I am not worthy to loosen the thongs of his sandals. He will baptize you with the holy Spirit and fire. After all the people had been baptized and Jesus also had been baptized and was praying, heaven was opened and the holy Spirit descended upon him in bodily form like a dove. And a voice came from heaven, “You are my beloved Son; with you I am well pleased.”

Reflection
In this short verse, John witnessed a spectacular moment. The coming of God’s spirit upon God’s only son. The spirit that was sensed ever since he was a baby till at his last moment on the Cross. Like what happened, the spirit gives us energy that will always remind us that, we’re not alone. The spirit came upon us but we’re not the only one and we have a mission to fulfil. To spread the word of God and express his love for the world.

Lasallian Guiding Principle
LGP states that, “…the communion in mission is a spirit that allows one to recognize the gifts of other people…” This is a holy bread or the body of Christ that gives to their disciples in he's last supper to remember him. He buried, crucified, rise to help the people and tell us that God will forgive us. The reason why communion is a gift because when we accept Jesus in our hearts. We can fight any pattern of evil around us and face different challenges together. This relentless love and passion for the human society shall benefit ourselves, through the act of giving.

Prayer
Through you, o’ God, may you cherish this moment for us to proclaim your unrelenting love for us and for our loved ones. May you guide us in our lives to help provide an outstanding performance, as future health care professionals. May we remember the people who embarked with us throughout this journey and may we return to them the unforgettable love for each and everyone of us. All this for the glory of your work, let us now be the work for you, o’ God.
