Luke 3:1-6

Date posted: December 9, 2018

Let us all remember that we are in the Holy Presence of God.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Gospel: Luke 3:1-6
“In the fifteenth year of the reign of Tiberius Caesar—when Pontius Pilate was governor of Judea, Herod tetrarch of Galilee, his brother Philip tetrarch of Iturea and Traconitis, and Lysanias tetrarch of Abilene—during the high-priesthood of Annas and Caiaphas, the word of God came to John son of Zechariah in the wilderness. He went into all the country around the Jordan, preaching a baptism of repentance for the forgiveness of sins. As it is written in the book of the words of Isaiah the prophet: “A voice of one calling in the wilderness, ‘Prepare the way for the Lord, make straight paths for him.   Every valley shall be filled in, every mountain and hill made low. The crooked roads shall become straight, the rough ways smooth. And all people will see God’s salvation.”

Reflection
Throughout the gospel, God goes to the heart of the problem, which is the human heart. When the sinners repent and embodied the gospel, they change their morals from the inside out. In a world where bad times are always intertwined with humans, the word of God is the only salvation. Without His words of guidance, bad times will get worse. In order to be able to make a change, we must be brave enough to face the struggles we encounter and with the gospel of God, everything will be okay in due time.

Lasallian Guiding Principle
LGP states that, “…communion as a way of accomplishing mission suggests the solidarity and collaboration that come from sharing in one vision, one spirit and one mission.” To be able to accomplish duties and responsibilities, we have to seek for His words. Our solidarity is what gives us the power to do all things with Him. With one vision and faith we are able to do things that we think we can’t do. We are bonded together to fulfill our mission in God and in the community. As a Lasallian, we share the same faith that allows us to have solidarity within us.

Prayer
Almighty God, We give praise and thanks to you for our lives. We know that your love knows no boundaries. Allow us to do the best that we can do for our community. Give us strength and wisdom in ourselves to be able to carry out our duties and responsibilities. May our solidarity and love for one another  remains. Fill us with your love and grace. This we pray, in the Mighty Name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

Our Lady of the Star, pray for us.
