Luke 4:24-26

Date posted: March 16, 2020

Let us all remember that we are in the Holy Presence of God.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Luke 4:24-26
And he said, “Truly, I say to you, no prophet is acceptable in his own country. But in truth, I tell you,
there were many widows in Israel in the days of Elijah, when the heaven was shut up three years and
six months, when there came a great famine over all the land; and Elijah was sent to none of them but
only to Zarephath, in the land of Sidon, to a woman who was a widow.

Reflection
The Gospel is talks about the faith of people in Jesus as the Messiah. We often focus our faith based on
what we see and what we feel. Jesus told us the truth, what we need to do is to decide whether to accept
this in our lives or not. This challenges us how strong our faith is. In this Lenten Season, what are the ways
to strengthen our faith?

Lasallian Guiding Principle
The LGP states that, “Zeal for service is a whole-hearted giving of oneself to the service of others, in gratuity
and generosity, in creativity and fortitude, in compassion and commitment.” As Lasallians, we should be
guided according to the teachings of the Lord as we uphold the essence of giving back to those in need.
Having faith in the Lord will strengthen the core values needed as we go through this journey of our lives
while accompanying others as well.

Oratio Imperata Against the COVID-19
God our Father,
We come to you in our need
To ask your protection against COVID-19,
That has claimed lives and has affected many.

We pray for your grace
For the people tasked with studying the nature and cause
Of this virus and its disease
And of stemming the tide of its transmission.
Guide the hands and minds of medical experts
That they may minister to the sick
With competence and compassion,
And of those governments and private agencies
That must find cure and solution to this epidemic.
We pray for those afflicted
May they be restored to health soon.
Grant us the grace
To work for the good of all
And to help those in need.

Grant this through our Lord, Jesus Christ, your Son,
Who lives and reigns with You, in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
God, forever and ever. Amen.
Our Lady of the Star, pray for us.
St. John Baptist de La Salle, pray for us.
St. Miguel Febres Cordero, pray for us.
Live Jesus in our hearts, forever!

In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
