Luke 6:36-38

Date posted: March 9, 2020

Let us all remember that we are in the Holy Presence of God.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Luke 6:36-38
Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful. “Stop judging and you will not be judged. Stop condemning and you will not be condemned. Forgive and you will be forgiven. Give and gifts will be given to you; a good measure, packed together, shaken down, and overflowing, will be poured into your lap. For the measure with which you measure will in return be measured out to you.”

Reflection
The biblical verse, “For the measure with which you measure will in return be measured out to you” means whatever we do unto others could turn as a blessing or a curse. Today’s gospel tells us that there is such principle as interconnectedness. If we shared love, then, we have experienced that love in the first place. If we share kindness, then, we have experienced the kindness of other people. In this Lenten Season, how do we measure kindness?

Lasallian Guiding Principle
LGP states that, “Zeal for service is a whole-hearted giving of oneself to the service of others, in gratuity and generosity, in creativity and fortitude, in compassion and commitment.” Doing good and showing compassion to others wholeheartedly are two important traits that are promoted by the gospel. SJBDLS visibly exhibited the said traits when he surrendered everything out of love of God and of other people as well. Just like our founder, we, Lasallians, are challenged to be of service to others especially to those who really deserve it.

Prayer for the Year of Ecumenism, Inter-Religious Dialogue and Indigenous Peoples
Almighty, Ever-living God, the most Merciful and Compassionate,
we thank You for Creation and the life You have given us.
Together, we people of diverse religions,
spiritual expressions and indigenous traditions who invoke You by different names,
humbly pray that You give us the opportunity to encounter each other through Dialogue,
to reach mutual respect and reciprocal acceptance of each other,
and to break down the walls of division that stand
at the center of most misunderstandings and conflicts.
Make us instruments of Your Light, Love and Peace.
Guide us to walk always in Your Path and be a source of hope to everyone
so that we may discover Your Divine Presence in each other.
Show us the way to Harmony and Unity to reach the fullness of human fraternity.
Give us the wisdom to discern the Truth and to freely choose what is right and just
to make this world a better place to live in.
Together, we ask You for the wisdom and the courage
to fulfil Your Will that all may be ONE.
We make this prayer through the intercession of Mary
Queen and Mother of the Christian Schools, and through
the intercession of Saint John Baptist de la Salle, patron of teachers. Amen.
Our Lady of the Star, pray for us.
St. John Baptist de La Salle, pray for us.
St. Miguel Febres Cordero, pray for us.
Live Jesus in our hearts, forever!
In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
