Luke 9:18-22

Date posted: September 28, 2018

Luke 9:18-22
Once when Jesus was praying in solitude, and the disciples were with him, he asked them, “Who do the crowds say that I am?” They said in reply, “John the Baptist; others, Elijah; still others, ‘One of the ancient prophets has arisen.'”  Then he said to them, “But who do you say that I am?” Peter said in reply, “The Messiah of God.” He rebuked them and directed them not to tell this to anyone. He said, “The Son of Man must suffer greatly and be rejected by the elders, the chief priests, and the scribes, and be killed and on the third day be raised.”

Reflection
The gospel reminds us of a crucial question that Jesus asked his disciples Who do you say I am? Knowing that He is our Savior is not enough. There is so much more and He promised that when we dwell in His presence He will reveal more of Himself. Are we ready to listen, follow and obey God at all cost?

Lasallian Guiding Principle
The Guiding Principles of the Philippine Lasallian Family states that “We should discover God’s active presence in his Word, men and women, in the poor, in nature, in history, and in ourselves.” It is vital that we make a difference in the society that we live in. Merely knowing is not enough but it is imperative to participate in causes that promotes peace, justice and love for the least, the lost, and the last.

Prayer
Lord, help us to act rightly, give us the wisdom that we need as we deal with the challenging times that we live in. Clarify our sense and strengthen our commitment to you. Awaken in us a mindfulness in our words and actions as we deal with people that we interact with everyday. Help us to find You in every waking moment of our lives. Amen.
Our Lady of the Star, pray for us.
St. John Baptist de la Salle, pray for us.
St. Miguel Febres Cordero, pray for us.
Live Jesus in our hearts, forever!
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
