Mark 10:30-37

Date posted: February 25, 2020

Let us all remember that we are in the Holy Presence of God.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Mark 10:30-37
“And they went forth from thence, and passed through Galilee; and he would not that any man should know it. For he taught
his disciples, and said unto them, The Son of man is delivered up into the hands of men, and they shall kill him; and when he
is killed, after three days he shall rise again. But they understood not the saying, and were afraid to ask him. And they came to
Capernaum: and when he was in the house he asked them, What were ye reasoning on the way? But they held their peace:
for they had disputed one with another on the way, who was the greatest. And he sat down, and called the twelve; and he
saith unto them, If any man would be first, he shall be last of all, and servant of all. And he took a little child, and set him in the
midst of them: and taking him in his arms, he said unto them, Whosoever shall receive one of such little children in my name,
receiveth me: and whosoever receiveth me, receiveth not me, but him that sent me. “

Reflection:
The Gospel talks about the Son of Man’s death and resurrection. He wants us to understand that death is part of our life and
resurrection is a divine gift. Those who receive the little children in His name, according to Jesus, shall receive God, the God
of life and resurrection. How can we become like those little children as taught in the gospel?

Lasallian Guiding Principle:
LGP states that, “As a member of a community, of the nation, and of the global village, Lasallian institutions must work in
solidarity with people and institutions that share the conviction in denouncing and working towards the elimination of unjust
practices…” As Lasallians, we are taught that a community must work hand-in-hand to achieve peace. Every one of us yearns
to live in a nation where justice is served and achieve equality. The people, who are the foundation of a community, should
have one purpose and that is to fulfill the needs of every household and work together as one family to eliminate any evil that
disrupts the peace that has been formed. We should open our doors to other institutions and held our helping hands to those
people who are in need and prevail peace in this world.

Prayer for the Year of Ecumenism, Inter-Religious Dialogue and Indigenous Peoples
Almighty, Ever-living God, the most Merciful and Compassionate, we thank You for Creation and the life You have given us.
Together, we people of diverse religions, spiritual expressions and indigenous traditions who invoke You by different names,
humbly pray that You give us the opportunity to encounter each other through Dialogue, to reach mutual respect and
reciprocal acceptance of each other, and to break down the walls of division that stand at the center of most
misunderstandings and conflicts.
Make us instruments of Your Light, Love and Peace. Guide us to walk always in Your Path and be a source of hope to
everyone so that we may discover Your Divine Presence in each other.

Show us the way to Harmony and Unity to reach the fullness of human fraternity. Give us the wisdom to discern the Truth and
to freely choose what is right and just to make this world a better place to live in.
Together, we ask You for the wisdom and the courage to fulfil Your Will that all may be ONE. Amen

We make this prayer through the intercession of Mary
Queen and Mother of the Christian Schools, and through
the intercession of Saint John Baptist de la Salle, patron of teachers. Amen.

Our Lady of the Star, pray for us.
St. John Baptist de La Salle, pray for us.
St. Miguel Febres Cordero, pray for us.
Live Jesus in our hearts, forever!

In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
