Mark 2:18-22

Date posted: January 20, 2020

Let us all remember that we are in the Holy presence of God.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Mark 2:18-22
Jesus answered them, “Can the wedding guests fast while the bridegroom is with them? As long as they have the bridegroom with them they cannot fast. But the days will come when the bridegroom is taken away from them, and then they will fast on that day. No one sews a piece of unshrunken cloth on an old cloak. If he does, its fullness pulls away, the new from the old, and the tear gets worse. Likewise, no one pours new wine into old wineskins. Otherwise, the wine will burst the skins, and both the wine and the skins are ruined. Rather, new wine is poured into fresh wineskins.”

Reflection
In this gospel, Jesus is inviting us to try something new rather than doing the same thing again and again every day. To change something in our life that would make us a better person. It is easy to say what changes we want, but change is not that easy. What is the change we desire in our life?

Lasallian Guiding Principle
LGP states that, “…the communion in mission is a spirit that allows one to trust one another…” this phrase says that as individuals, we all follow our own needs and wants to fulfill our missions. Not everyone has the same goals. We all have different objectives that we want to achieve. As Lasallian, it is important to work together as a team to fulfill a mission that is much more important and will be a significant part of our lives.
