Mark 3:13-19

Date posted: January 24, 2020

Let us all remember that we are in the Holy presence of God.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Mark 3:13-19
And he went up on the mountain, and called to him those whom he desired; and they came to him. And he appointed
twelve, to be with him, and to be sent out to preach and have authority to cast out demons: Simon whom he surnamed Peter; James the son of Zebedee and John the brother of James, whom he surnamed Boanerges, that is, sons of thunder; Andrew, and Philip, and Bartholomew, and Matthew, and Thomas, and James the son of Alphaeus, and Thaddaeus, and Simon the Cananaean, and Judas Iscariot, who betrayed him. Then he went home.

Reflection
When Jesus embarked on his mission he chose twelve men for the task of preaching the Kingdom of God and healing
the sick. Jesus chose ordinary people. He wanted ordinary people to do extraordinary things. Jesus chose them for
their capabilities and strength. Each of us is called based on capabilities and abilities. How do we respond to this call
of Jesus in our life?

Lasallian Guiding Principle
LGP states that, “…the communion in mission is a spirit that allows one to trust one another…” obedience.” In relation to the gospel, the LGP encourages us to respond as one in the mission entrusted to us by our Father Founder. As Lasallians, may we always be ready to respond “Yes” to every situation that needed our service. It is our call to be true Christians and a true Lasallians.
