Mark 3:22-30

Date posted: January 28, 2019

Let us all remember that we are in the Holy Presence of God.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Gospel: Mark 3:22-30.
The scribes who had come from Jerusalem said of Jesus, “He is possessed by Beelzebul,” and “By the prince of demons he drives out demons.” Summoning them, he began to speak to them in parables, “How can Satan drive out Satan? If a kingdom is divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand. And if a house is divided against itself, that house will not be able to stand. And if Satan has risen up against himself and is divided, he cannot stand; that is the end of him. But no one can enter a strong man’s house to plunder his property unless he first ties up the strong man. Then he can plunder his house. Amen, I say to you, all sins and all blasphemies that people utter will be forgiven them. But whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit will never have forgiveness, but is guilty of an everlasting sin.” For they had said, “He has an unclean spirit.”

Reflection
The Word of God teaches us to trust in the divine power and kindness of the Lord Jesus Christ. With Him, all sins in the world and all evil will be gone through His mighty name. To those who believe in His sacred birth and the power of His sacrifice shall understand the Holy Spirit and be forever in His keeping. For the Lord has come to us by the grace of the Father in Heaven and we are all under His loving care. Are we willing to be His child?

Lasallian Guiding Principle
LGP states that, “…communion as a way of accomplishing mission suggests the solidarity and collaboration that come from sharing in one vision, one spirit and one mission.” The communion of people with one another and with God shall be the power to expel the devil. Inside us there should be a light in times of darkness and peril, for the principle taught to us by the Lord Jesus Christ is the memento of God in the doubts of unbelievers. The communion shall be the path in order for the children of heaven to seek the truth, the good and the Lord. This is the gift we receive from our founder St. John Baptist De La Salle.

Prayer
Lord, Almighty Father, God of Hosts through your son Jesus Christ, may we embody the mission You have given to us. We bow down to your excellence as we proclaim your existence to our soul. We are sorry for the grievous mistakes we have made. May we be made worthy of You, O Lord. We contrite these sins with utmost sincerity pleading to ask for Your forgiveness. We also thank You, O Lord that even though we are not a chastised human being, You still come to us to shower us with Your blessing. May You continue to shower us with your love and let us cherish what we have in this world until we meet at last. This we pray, in the Mighty Name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
Our Lady of the Star, pray for us.
