Mark 6:53-56

Date posted: February 10, 2020

Let us all remember that we are in the Holy presence of God.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Mark 6:53-56
After making the crossing to the other side of the sea, Jesus and his disciples came to land at Gennesaret and tied up
there. As they were leaving the boat, people immediately recognized him. They scurried about the surrounding country and began to bring in the sick on mats to wherever they heard he was. Whatever villages or towns or countryside he entered, they laid the sick in the marketplaces and begged him that they might touch only the tassel on his cloak; and as many as touched it were healed.

Reflection
The gospel depicts a deep relation of Jesus and the people of Gennesaret through their faith. Their faith has saved
them from their sickness as the edge of the cloak symbolizes Jesus’ unending grace. The way the people of Gennesaret should become a model for us to present our lives before Jesus and trust in Him that He will do good to us. In what way do we spread and share the Good News of God to everyone?

Lasallian Guiding Principle
LGP states that, “trust in God’s loving presence and providence when acting or discerning God’s will” because believing in His presence will save us. In relation with the gospel, we are encouraged to trust God’s ways and plans in our life without doubt. It should be extended to all our actions whatever services we give to them. As Lasallians, we must continue to share our talents to everyone for the common good of all.

Prayer for the Year of Ecumenism, Inter-Religious Dialogue and Indigenous Peoples
Almighty, Ever-living God, the most Merciful and Compassionate,
we thank You for Creation and the life You have given us.
Together, we people of diverse religions, spiritual expressions and indigenous traditions
who invoke You by different names,
humbly pray that You give us the opportunity
to encounter each other through Dialogue,
to reach mutual respect and reciprocal acceptance of each other,
and to break down the walls of division that stand
at the center of most misunderstandings and conflicts.
Make us instruments of Your Light, Love and Peace.
Guide us to walk always in Your Path and be a
source of hope to everyone so that we may discover Your Divine Presence in each other.
Show us the way to Harmony and Unity to reach the fullness of human fraternity.
Give us the wisdom to discern the Truth and to freely choose what is right and just
to make this world a better place to live in.
Together, we ask You for the wisdom and the courage to fulfil Your Will that all may be ONE.
We make this prayer through the intercession of Mary
Queen and Mother of the Christian Schools, and through
The intercession of Saint John Baptist de La Salle, patron of teachers. Amen.
Our Lady of the Star, pray for us.
St. John Baptist de La salle, pray for us.
St. Miguel Febres Cordero, pray for us.
Live Jesus in our hearts, forever!
In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
