Matthew 18:1-5, 10

Date posted: October 2, 2019

Let us all remember that we are in the Holy Presence of God.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Matthew 18:1-5, 10
At that time the disciples came to Jesus, saying, “Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?” And calling to him a child, he put him in the midst of them, and said, “Truly, I say to you, unless you turn and become like children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Whoever humbles himself like this child, he is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. “Whoever receives one such child in my name receives me; “See that you do not despise one of these little ones; for I tell you that in heaven their angels always behold the face of my Father who is in heaven.

Reflection
How do I see myself and other people? The Gospel is all about how to be humble whenever we ask something from God illustrated as an image of an innocent child. This simply shows the pureness of a child’s heart. For this reason, we should remain humble in the sight of God. God wants us tell Him the desires of our hearts including the sins that we have done. We pray for the forgiveness of our own sins and a humble heart to forgive other’s offenses against us. May we inherit the heart of a child.

Lasallian Guiding Principle
LGP states that the spirit of faith is a spirit that allows one to judge and evaluate things in the light of the gospel. The gospel guides us on how we should act before Him. Our founder, St. John Baptist De La Salle is an example of humility before the presence of God. He also gave up his treasures for the benefit of the needy children of France. May all Lasallians remain humble in the sight of God despite the achievements we acquire in life.

One Life Prayer
Holy Spirit You love us and offer us the gift of association. You call us to live with joy. You invite us to be people with a creative inner life. Lord, grant us your strength for a life full of meaning Fill us with your grace so that we will live the values of the gospel our inner life will grow. And that we will be credible witnesses Together with the entire Lasallian Family In the midst of our world. We make this prayer through the intercession of Mary Queen and Mother of the Christian Schools, and through The intercession of Saint John Baptist de La Salle, patron of teachers. Amen.
