Matthew 21:33-46

Let us all remember that we are in the Holy Presence of God.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Matthew 21:33-46
Jesus said to them, “Have you never read in the scriptures: `The very stone which the builders rejected has become the head of the corner; this was the Lord’s doing, and it is marvelous in our eyes’? Therefore, I tell you, the kingdom of God will be taken away from you and given to a nation producing the fruits of it.” When the chief priests and the Pharisees heard his parables, they perceived that he was speaking about them. But when they tried to arrest him, they feared the multitudes, because they held him to be a prophet.

Reflection
The gospel for today explains how Jesus is being treated when he came into the world. In the gospel, He was represented by the son of the household. The Gospel tells us that we must be grateful and welcoming since God gave Jesus to us. Learn to be humble and do not wish harmto others. God’s gifts are for everyone and not only for personal satisfaction. What are the benefits of doing good deeds to others?

LGP states that, “Zeal for service is a whole-hearted giving of oneself to the service of others, in gratuity and generosity, in creativity and fortitude, in compassion and commitment.” In relation to the gospel, the LGP encourages us to be humble and give our whole life in serving others. True service aims no harm to others. As Lasallians, may we practice this virtue of humility and spread goodness to all people we encounter in our life.

Prayer for the Year of Ecumenism, Inter-Religious Dialogue and Indigenous Peoples
Almighty, Ever-living God, the most Merciful and Compassionate,
we thank You for Creation and the life You have given us.
Together, we people of diverse religions,
spiritual expressions and indigenous traditions who invoke You by different names,
humbly pray that You give us the opportunity to encounter each other through Dialogue,
to reach mutual respect and reciprocal acceptance of each other,
and to break down the walls of division that stand
at the center of most misunderstandings and conflicts.
Make us instruments of Your Light, Love and Peace.
Amen.

St. Miguel Febres Cordero, pray for us.
Live Jesus in our hearts, forever!
