Matthew 8: 5-9

Date posted: December 2, 2019

Let us all remember that we are in the Holy presence of God.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Matthew 8: 5-9
When Jesus entered Capernaum, a centurion approached him and appealed to him, saying, “Lord, my servant is lying at home paralyzed, suffering dreadfully.” He said to him, “I will come and cure him.” The centurion said in reply, “Lord, I am not worthy to have you enter under my roof; only say the word and my servant will be healed. For I too am a person subject to authority, with soldiers subject to me.”

Reflection
The gospel talks about humility and loving others. Like the centurion in our Gospel, we, human beings must have the humility and love of God in dealing with people. We acknowledge that we are under the authority of God. When we are powerless, we need to turn to God who is powerful. How do we see those little sacrifices that we did in our life?

Lasallian Guiding Principle
As stated in the LGP, “communion in mission as a way of relating to others suggests openness to all persons and the desire to be brother or sister to all especially those in need.” We are encouraged to practice the virtue of humility and selfless love. As Lasallians, we are called to follow the humilty and dedication of St. La Salle in transforming the lives of many people regardless of their status in life. May we have a deep love in our service especially to the people who are the least, the lost, and the last in our community.

One Life Prayer
Holy Spirit
You love us and offer us the gift of association.
You call us to live with joy
You invite us to be people with a creative inner life
Lord, grant us your strength for a life full of meaning
Fill us with your grace so that we will live the values of the gospel.
Our inner life will grow
And that we will be credible witnesses
Together with the entire Lasallian Family
In the midst of our world.
We make this prayer through the intercession of Mary

Queen and Mother of the Christian Schools, and through
The intercession of Saint John Baptist de La Salle, patron of teachers. Amen.
Our Lady of the Star, pray for us.
St. John Baptist de La salle, pray for us.

Live Jesus in our hearts, forever!
In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
