Saint Mark 1, 14-20.

Date posted: January 14, 2019

Let us all remember that we are in the Holy Presence of God.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
Gospel: Saint Mark 1, 14-20.
After John had been arrested, Jesus came to Galilee proclaiming the Gospel of God:
"This is the time of fulfillment. The kingdom of God is at hand. Repent, and believe in the gospel."
As he passed by the Sea of Galilee, he saw Simon and his brother Andrew casting their nets into the sea;
they were fishermen.
Jesus said to them, "Come after me, and I will make you fishers of men."
Then they abandoned their nets and followed him.
He walked along a little farther and saw James, the son of Zebedee, and his brother John. They too were
in a boat mending their nets.
Then he called them. So they left their father Zebedee in the boat along with the hired men and followed
him.
Reflection:
When we are going to do something, we should know the equipments to use and in this gospel, we have
the armor of God as our equipment. Our faith in Jesus will be our shield and one important way is by
praying. It is said in the gospel that we should search for His knowledge and His guidance on all of our
fishing expeditions in life. We shall follow Him, learn from Him, know and understand His mission and His
message.
Lasallian Guiding Principle:
LGP states that, “…the communion in mission is a spirit that allows one to trust one another…”
Most of the time, we claim that we fully trust the Lord and yet we also doubt if God would really be there for
us every time. Doubt is the opposite of faith. When we do not submit fully to God our heart and thought, we
will always be doubtful. We doubt because we have not really accepted that there is a God who is mightier
than us. We have doubt because we do not accept our limitations, frailties, and inefficiencies. We have
doubt because we want to be in control of everything, we cannot just let go and let God rule our life. Trust
is basic when one would like to have courage; trust in the Lord affects trusting one’s self and trusting
others.
Prayer:
Dear Lord, the Giver of all gifts, thanks for all the blessings you have given us. We are sor for our faults
and humbly ask for your forgiveness. Bless all our teachers and schoolmates. Teach us all to love one
another and to love you above all things. Amen.

Our Lady of the Star, pray for us.
St. John Baptist de la Salle, pray for us.
St. Miguel Febres Cordero, pray for us.
Live Jesus in our hearts, forever!
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
