Out of 40 teams of medical students from Cambodia, China, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, and Philippines, our team placed 4th in the Chiang Mai University – International Medical Challenge or CMU –IMC 2015 held in Thailand from November 27-30, 2015.


Two of our representatives, Juan Paolo Austria (3rd year) and Febby T. Diabordo (2nd year) were also awarded silver medals for ranking 6th among 160 students who took an 80-item test in the elimination round. Roxanne M. Figueroa (3rd year) and Joanna May S. Quilacio (3rd year) complete our 4-member team. Aside from the DLSHSI team, the Philippines was also represented by UP’s College of Medicine team. Our team was accompanied by their team adviser, Dr. Van Jerwin Mercado.


Rounding up the top five were teams from Chulalongkorn University (1st and 5th), UP (2nd place), and Mahidol University (3rd place).


The Chiang Mai University International Medical Challenge (CMU –IMC), is an international competition that held annually in Thailand by the Chiang Mai University, Faculty of Medicine participated by medical students from various countries.
