WORLD-CLASS FACILITIES FOR THE DETECTION AND TREATMENT OF EARLY GASTROINTESTINAL CANCER
De La Salle University Medical Center (DLSUMC) now has the “state of the art” equipment in doing magnifying endoscopy for the detection of early gastro-intestinal malignancies as well as the “cutting edge” technology of minimally invasive endoscopic surgery (Endoscopic Mucosal Resection and Endoscopic Sub-mucosal Dissection) for treatment of early cancer.
The De La Salle University Medical Center (DLSUMC) “upped the ante” on its fight against cancer as it acquires “state of the art” endoscopic equipment capable of magnifying the superficial inner lining (mucosa) of the gastro-intestinal tract (GIT) to at least 40 times. This “cutting edge” technology called magnifying chromo-endoscopy makes subtle mucosal changes in color and texture easily detectable. So, the differentiation between benign and pre-malignant areas is done in real-time.
