Acknowledged as its annual noble event to reach out to the under-served brothers and sisters, the De La Salle University Medical Center has once again brought joy and excitement through the “Pamaskong Handog”, a Christmas Party for the Underprivileged people last December 5, 2015 at the DLSHSI motorpool.
The event was extensively planned for three months with the home visits of Social Services Department to determine deserving recipients. Despite the bad weather and heavy rains, the Spiritual-Socio-Cultural Committee pushed through with the event. Christmas goodies (i.e. food, grocery items, and school supplies) were given to 500 deserving recipients. The beneficiaries came from 250 families from five selected barangays in Dasmariñas. Gifts were also extended to RCVJ personnel, engineering staff, and traffic aide. Apart from the distribution, the beneficiaries attended the Holy Mass presided by Rev. Fr. Joseph Aloysius Cosina and joyfully welcomed by Dr. Jaime Pacifico, Director for Medical Professional Services.. The families enjoyed the games and magic performances thereafter.
DLSHSI President Br. Augustine Boquer, FSC imparted a message to everyone in the event to acknowledge what “Pamaskong Handog” has constantly done for the good of others. He also inspired the people to do more and give more.
The activity centered on the theme “Taon ng Pagmamalasakit at Pagkalinga” was made possible and sustained through the generous and voluntary contributions from the Spiritual-Socio-Cultural Committee, DLSHSI community, DLSUMC volunteers, donors, City Government of Dasmariñas, and Sisters of St. Paul of Chartres.
