The teaching staff of the De La Salle Health Sciences Institute is composed of dedicated professors and instructors who have trained intensively and expensively in their respective fields. Armed with impressive academic credentials and a wealth of clinical experience, the members of the faculty are role models for the future health professionals.
Sixty (60) percent of the 266-member teaching staff are all full-time faculty members (82% of the College of Physical Therapy, 97% of the College of Nursing and Midwifery, all of the College of Medical Radiation Technology and 50% of the College of Medicine faculty), devoting at least forty (40) hours a week to teaching activities. Thiry (30) percent are Masters Degree holders (20% of the College of Physical Therapy, 85% of the College of Nursing and Midwifery, 90% of the College of Medical Radiation Technology and 15% of the College of Medicine faculty). Several faculty members also have Doctoral Degrees. Ninety (90) percent of the physician-faculty have been awarded the title of Diplomate and / or Fellow of their respective specialty societies.
As part of the effort to continually improve the faculty's teaching capabilities, the members of the teaching staff regularly undergo training in health education in their respective fields.
