The College of Rehabilitation Sciences is stepping up its efforts in providing quality clinical internship opportunities to its students with the signing of an agreement with the School of Health and Medical Sciences of Seton Hall University in New Jersey, USA.

Through the agreement, both schools commit to provide clinical exposures to their students in the areas of Athletic Training, Occupational Therapy, Physician Assistant, Physical Therapy, and Speech-Language Pathology. The international internships will be for a minimum of three weeks on a full time basis for SHU students, while for DLSHSI students, the duration of the internship will be six weeks.

CRS Dean Dr. Ma. Cecilia Licuan, PTRP considers the signing of the agreement as good start in CRS’s efforts to provide their students with more opportunities to experience international clinical internships. “We are currently looking at other opportunities in various areas in the US and in Asia as well,” she shared.

SHU’s Dean for Speech-Language Pathology Dr. Brian Shulman and Lauren Twombly, Dawn Maffucci, and Kim Poulsen, directors for Clinical Education of the Departments of Physician Assistant, Athletic Training, and Physical Therapy, respectively, were side by side with DLSHSI President Br. Gus Boquer FSC, Vice Chancellor for Academics Dr. Ramona Luisa Pablo Santos, and CRS Dean Dr. Ma. Cecilia Licuan to sign the agreement at DLSHSI on January 13.
