DLSMHSI is Best Performing Pharmacy school; 100% passing rate for first batch

Class 2018, the pioneer class of DLSMHSI’s College of Pharmacy, has made history once again with a 100% passing rate in the March 2019 Pharmacist Licensure Examination. With this 100% passing rate, DLSMHSI was Top 1 among Best Performing Pharmacy Schools in Category B (with 15-49) examinees.

College Dean Dr. Alicia P. Catabay credits the College’s Competency Appraisal and Remediation Program for the outstanding performance of their students in the boards. The program closely monitors the students’ academic performance. This allows both student and faculty to immediately identify weak spots and implement remediation.

“When I received news that we obtained a 100% passing in the board exams I felt that I am so blessed to have a pool of faculty members who are genuinely concerned with the students and guided them from day one of the review until the examination itself. We felt vindicated about being strict with students and demanding the best from them,” said Dean Catabay.

With the bar set high by the pioneer class, Dr. Catabay and her Pharmily (as they call for the College of Pharmacy family) have pledged to “continue with the training and education that we promise to give them. With the new
building and new equipment that we have and the support of Mercury Drug Corporation and the DLSMHSI administration, our students will have the best. Add to that the fact that they have high caliber and dedicated teachers. And I want to thank them all, my faculty, staff and graduates for a job well done. As I have said
time and again “it takes a Village, the DLSMHSI Village” to produce graduates that we can be proud of.”

Congratulations Pharmily!
