The Three-Dimensional Radiotherapy (3DRT) and Intensity-Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT) are now available in Cavite at the newly opened Radiation Therapy Center at DLSUMC.

IMRT is an advanced technique of high-precision radiotherapy that uses the computer-controlled linear accelerator to deliver precise radiation doses to a malignant tumor or specific areas within a tumor and allows radiation amount to be more clear by the use of 3DRT which radiates the shape of the tumor.

The new center hopes to provide and promote the highest quality of healthcare in cancer management by providing advanced services and facilities for cancer patients. The linear accelerator is a great help in treating cancer patients because precise doses contribute to fast recovery and also increases the patient’s chances of recovering from cancer.

Located beside the Jose Sotto Tantiansu Hall, the new facility also offers services like 2D Conventional Radiotherapy, 3D Conformal Radiotherapy, Intensity-Modulated Radiotherapy (IMRT), Tumor Localization and Simulation (CT Simulation),
Computerized Treatment Planning, Patient Education, and Support Group.

DLSUMC’s Director for Medical Professional Services Dr. Conrado Crisostomo MHSA, FPOGS, FPSUOG shared that this center “gives hope to the cancer patients. With the addition of the Radiation Therapy Center with the help of Philippine Oncology Center Corporation (POCC), we are offering high standards of care and hopefully, we are better able to reach out to patients not just in Dasmarinas but for the whole province of Cavite.”

The center will be managed by the POCC under a lease agreement with DLSUMC which is valid for 15 years.
