Doctor volunteers and staff from the offices of Campus Ministry and Lasallian Formation and Social Action joined a De La Salle Philippines-led outreach program for the indigenous people community of Cagayan Valley.
Held at Sta. Ana Elementary School and Callao Elementary School on June 13 to 17, 2017, the team conducted a medical mission and taught mothers and health workers to prepare and create ointments, syrups, and essential oils out of plants like Akapulko and Kakawati. Hygiene education was also discussed to help the community take better care of their health. The outreach activity was part of De La Salle Philippines’ the One La Salle Recovery and Rehabilitation Project for those affected by Typhoon Lawin.
