Out of more than 80 teams from 23 different countries on four different continents, College of Medicine students Justin Daniel C. Belmonte (2nd year), Carlo Jay R. Dejelo (3rd year), and Ryan Michael B. Villar (4th year) team placed 3rd in the 14th Inter-Medical School Physiology Quiz held in Yogyakarta, Indonesia on July 29 -30, 2016.


The Inter- Medical School Physiology Quiz (IMSPQ) is a teambased competition for medical students and focuses on human physiology which is the basis of medical education. For the first time, the 14th series of IMSPQ was held at the Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Gadha Mada in Indonesia. The program highlights are the quiz event that includes the written test and multiple phases of oral quiz, hands-on workshop on medical instruments, cultural workshop and cultural night to experience local culture, and a refresher course entitled “The Role of the Brain in Sympathetic Activity and Blood Pressure,” by Professor Susan M. Barman, PhD of Neuroscience of Michigan State University, USA and one of the authors of Ganong’s Medical Physiology.
