Finally, the newest addition to the growing landscape of the DLSHSI campus has been unveiled. And what a sight it is!
A 6-storey building with an ultra-modern look and featuring an environment-friendly architecture, DLSUMC’s Medical Arts Center (MAC) was presented to the DLSHSI community and its friends on June 28.
Planned to be the home of DLSUMC’s clinicians, MAC will provide a wide range of medical specialties and state-of-the-art patient services in a conducive environment for the highest level of patient care. Patients and visitors will notice more spacious waiting areas with a grand piano as its centerpiece, a café, and other outpatient service areas on the ground floor of the left wing. On the second floor are the Gastroenterology and Digestive Endoscopy Center and the Day Surgery Center, which is a 5-room operating center that can do minor surgical procedures for out-patients. The 3rd floor is dedicated for specialized services which include the Eye Center, Hearing Center, EEG Laboratory, Diabetes Education Center, Immunization Center, Hemodialysis Center, and a proposed site of the home care center and integrated wellness program, as well as the Executive Check-up and Mobile Clinic service centers.
During the blessing, Sr. Francesca San Deigo, vice chancellor for Hospital Operations shared that “The health care needs of this community we serve are growing, and we are happy that now our doctors have this modern, accessible, and spacious clinics where they can truly practice the art of healing and be the channel of God’s healing mercy, comport, and hope.”
DLSHSI President Br. Gus Boquer said that the opening of MAC is another manifestation that at DLSHSI, “We aim to give nothing but the best for our patients who need proper medical attention.”
“Each time I think of you my dear Doctors, nurses, and staff, I thank our God for you. I am so proud of you and my prayers accompany you daily! Take good care of our patients, including yourselves. Our God will surely bless you all, in His time,” he enthused.
The blessing and unveiling was witnessed by De La Salle Philippines President Br. Jose Mari Jimenes FSC, Br. Felipe Belleza FSC, director of Residencia De La Salle, Congresswoman Jenny Barzaga; DLSHSI Trustee Mr. Paul Zaldarriaga, Mayor Pidi Barzaga, MAC Contractor Eng. Dick Toledo, and Arch. Duke Sage.
No less than the Bishop of Imus, Most Rev. Reynaldo Evangelista led the blessing, assisted by Rev. Fr. Joseph Aloysius Cosina, Rev. Fr. Henricio Tagalog, Rev. Fr. Manny David and Rev. Fr. Manny Villas.
