As a fulfillment of the Memorandum of Understanding signed on October 16, 2015 between Tzu Chi University (TCU) of Hualien, Taiwan and DLSHSI, TCU students, faculty and administrators were on campus on August 2, 2016 to share experiences and knowledge with their counterparts at DLSHSI.


The TCU party toured the campus and were given updates on DLSHSI’s academic thrusts and researches on Dengue, TB, and other health issues


Chen-Ying Chang Chien, 1st year Traditional Chinese Medicine, Acupuncture Therapy student who is a first timer in the Philippines, complimented the facilities she saw and the people she met at DLSHSI. She said DLSHSI is a “very good institution and people are kind and jolly.”


Br. Gus Boquer expressed his hope for future collaborations between DLSHSI and TCU especially in the field of medical research. He also reminded to students to “always have a helping hand for the poor.”


Tzu Chi University is a private university in Hualien City, Taiwan. It was founded by the Tzu Chi Foundation and is famous in Taiwan for the quality of the medical education it provides. TCU has strong ties with Hualien Tzu Chi General Hospital as well as five teaching hospitals in other parts of Taiwan.
