Center for Complementary and Integrative Medicine (CIM)

Established in 1995 by the Research Services as the Center for Indigenous Medicine (CIM), the newly renamed Center for Complementary and Integrative Medicine  has been active for more than a decade in promoting traditional and alternative health care research and services.

Its Herbal Medicine Garden is a showcase of about 80 medicinal plants. It has funded herbal research studies among DLSHSI students and Resident doctors. It has also been operating an Acupuncture Clinic since 1995.  In 2006, it started a Hatha Yoga training program for emotional and physical health. A Massage Therapy Program for general wellness and relaxation is now taking shape, as the staff is currently being trained in Chinese massage (tuina), Thai Massage, Filipino Hilot, Shiatsu, and Swedish Massage traditions.
