BS in Life and Health Sciences opens in SY 2022-2023

The Commission of Higher Education (CHED) has approved the offering of BS in Life and Health Sciences with majors in Human Biology, Microbiology and Biotechnology in SY 2022-2023. This is one of the innovative programs initiated by the College of Allied Sciences (CAS) as an allied health science undergraduate degree or as an academic preparation for medical education and profession.


DMC College Foundation visits DLSMHSI for benchmarking activity

The administrators of Dipolog Medical Center (DMC) College Foundation, a La Salle-supervised school based in Dipolog City, Zamboanga del Norte, visited De La Salle Medical and Health Sciences Institute on March 10, 2022 to conduct a benchmarking tour in preparation for the creation of the College of Medicine at their institution.  Vice Chancellor for Academics Dr. Juanito O. Cabanias welcomed the guests, viewing the visit as an opportunity for future partnerships and an extension of service to fellow Lasallian institution.The guests were taken to a guided tour of the College of Medicine, Romeo P. Ariniego, MD, AFSC Library, undergraduate colleges and laboratories, and De La Salle University Medical Center.


DLSMHSI alumni post commendable performance in licensure examinations 

Eighty (80) College of Medicine alumni successfully passed the March 2022 Physician Licensure Examination. DLSMHSI got a passing rate of 74.32% for the first takers and an over-all passing rate of 68.97% higher than the national passing rate of 50.30%.Graduates of College of Medical Laboratory Science obtained 50% overall passing rate during the Medical Technologist Licensure Examination in March 2022. National passing rate is 46.08%.

Congratulations to the new Lasallian doctors and medical technologists and to the Administrators, Academic Teaching Faculty and Non-Teaching Personnel of College of Medicine and College of Medical Laboratory Science.

 


Senior High School students win in pitching competition 
Congratulations to the Senior High School students under Team COGNITIO Yzabelle Rain M. Bancoro, Rein Erin C. Dalawampu, Luisa Ysabela E. Carandang, and Audric B. Vitangcol and their coach Ms. Pauline L. Cueno for winning 1st Runner Up and People’s Choice Award in the Ideation and Pitching Competition of Catalyst ’22: The Healthcare Affair sponsored by the University of the Philippines Chemical Engineering Society, Inc. (UP KEM) on March 19, 2022. This is a nationwide 3-day virtual event which exposes students to seminars on public health, pandemic information, experiences of a medical frontliner, and even entrepreneurship, in order to hone their process of idea-generation and problem solving.
